Last month social book marking site Delicious announced that it was closing its doors…..or that is what the leaks claimed. Delicious formally called del.icio.us was founded in 2003 and was acquired by Yahoo in 2005.

Delicious claimed that it was not closing down but just breaking apart from Yahoo. We are not quite sure what is happening, but it is clear that the book marking site is not in Yahoos business future. This can also be said for Yahoo Buzz, MyBloglog and Alta Vista who may also be closing their doors in the coming few months.

Delicious maintain that their site is still running and will be in the coming future, but for those who want to flee before there are any problems there are other book marking sites available and Delicious offers a good exporting option.
