Connecting With Your Audience Without Going ‘Live’

If you’re a frequent user of Instagram, you probably can’t count the number of times in the past few weeks that brands have said, “Tune in to our live stream!” It feels like every brand (and every person, for that matter) is going live on Instagram right now.

We get it: it’s a reflex effort to connect with people in a time where we can’t be with them. We love that. We’re so happy to see brands being more intentional about connecting with their people. But, what if Instagram Live isn’t the only way to connect? What if, during this time, we can find a million more ways to connect with one another even when we can’t physically be together?

So, how can we connect with our audiences, with other human beings, while being quarantined at home? We’ve found a couple of brands who are doing more than the reflex of “going live on Instagram” and connecting with their people in a unique way. Let’s talk about ‘em!

Youth To The People’s Skin Consultations

Youth To The People, an inclusive LA-Based skincare brand, is giving its newsletter subscribers invites to free personalized skincare sessions with their team of skincare experts!

Here’s what they’re saying about it: “Get the most from your current routine, answer any questions about your skin type or our newest launch, the Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial, and create a customized routine to achieve your ultimate skin goals, or simply chat and connect with someone in the YTTP community.”

The Break’s Invitation to Collaborate

The Break, an NYC-based store, studio, and event space, is inviting their followers to create art-pieces based on photos from their Instagram. The winner’s art will be printed on t-shirts, and they will also win a $200 gift card and 10% commission on all sales of their t-shirt design!

Here’s what they’re saying about it: “Business is not as usual. We know that first-hand and can appreciate how tough it is right now for small businesses and freelancers, alike.

For The Break, our income is mostly generated in-store, selling one-off pieces we hand source weekly. We have had to make huge adjustments that come with closing our doors. We know lots of you are experiencing similar uncertainty.

So how do we proceed? And how can we help? In our case, and as we’ve always loved to do, we look to our incredible community.

Though this is a small effort, we believe we can forge some beauty and light in this time of darkness, together. Maybe, at least, this can serve as a lil distraction. 😉 We can’t wait to see what you create!”
